US music video director to give Lagos seminar

Director X came into prominence in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Then credited as Little X, he directed videos for rapper DMX, Usher, Alicia Keys and Sisqo among others. In 2003, he directed the video for Sean Paul’s ‘Get Busy’, which launched a craze for Caribbean dance styles in Ghana, Nigeria and several countries around the world. He recently shot one of two videos for the Rihanna single 'Work'.

London-schooled Nigerian director Mr. Moe Musa has directed videos for Nigerian acts Tiwa Savage and Wizkid, as well as Ghana's Fuse ODG and others. In 2015, he directed the video for the song ‘Bobo’ by Olamide, which was the most watched music video of 2015 on YouTube.

For his part, Sesan Ogunro directed several videos for the Mo’ Hits group comprising Don Jazzy, D’Banj, Wande Coal and others, before the dissolution of the group. Since then he has worked with Wizkid and Davido.

“The seminar will take a technical look at the art of directing,” says MKN. “This will be in the form of presentations as well as a mediated panel for the directors before throwing it out to the audience for a Q&A. The purpose of the seminar is to give people who are curious, aspiring, already in the industry or even from a different field, inside knowledge from successful accomplished directors on the tools needed to also become successful in directing.”
