Call for applications: Art and social sciences residency in France
The Camargo Foundation centre and the Paris-based School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (EHESS) are accepting applications for their joint production-oriented residency programme ‘EHESS at Camargo’ in Cassis, France.
The programme aims to stimulate links and exchange between scholars and artists to develop projects between the social sciences and all arts disciplines. The residency period is four weeks and will take place between April 2021 and April 2022. The exact residency dates will be determined by the Camargo Foundation based on the availability of the participants.
Eligibility
- The scholar must belong to a social sciences lab.
- The artist must be the principal designer of a new work or project.
- The artist must reside outside of France.
Requirements
- Profile of the applicants, which should include CVs and examples of previous work.
- Project description (max 2 000 words).
- The cultural institutions approached for the production/dissemination of the project.
Interested applicants should send all the requirements to apply@camargofoundation.org.
Successful applicants will receive the following:
- An artist fee of between €3 700 ($4 500) and €4 000.
- Transport to and from the Camargo Foundation centre.
- Per diem.
Note:
- These guidelines exist in French only, as French is the language of the application and selection processes. However, work developed during the residency may be in any language.
- Priority may also be given to projects for which a cultural institution is approached for production and/or promotion.
- The result of the collaboration will be presented to EHESS and the Camargo Foundation during the residency.
The application deadline is 14 February 2021. Successful applicants will be notified in March 2021.
