SA’s Mi Casa and German duo YouNotUs release Chucks music video

The highly-anticipated video follows the release of the ‘Chucks’ single in March, which is available for streaming and download on major streaming platforms. The two groups collaborated remotely to produce the track from Johannesburg and Berlin.

The video was directed by Berlin-based director Marvin Ströter and filmed between Windhoek, Walvis Bay and Swakopmund, all across the Namibian landscape. The set was chosen largely because it is a COVID-19-friendly territory with massive support for Mi Casa.

The terrain also speaks to the message behind the songs, which is, “Live your best life while you can and never give up.” In the video, the two groups can be seen in jovial spirits, spreading happiness across boundaries and instantly injecting the feeling of joy to the viewer.

The single is a remake of Mi Casa’s 2020 song of the same name, and it marks the South African band’s first international collaboration after signing a record deal in May last year with Germany-based Afroforce1 Records, a subsidiary of Universal Music Group Africa.
