Call for submissions: Lomotif global talent hunt
Singaporean short-form video app Lomotif is accepting submissions for its international singing talent hunt titled #YouveBeenScouted.
The winner will receive a record deal worth $250 000 and global promotion by the company.
Nigerian musicians Patoranking, Laycon and Raybekah have been named as scouts for the contest alongside US producer Teddy Riley, India’s Palak Muchhal and Darshan Raval as well as Nail Shary, Thomas Mraz and Lusia Chebotina from Russia. They will select participants based on their singing performance and vocal technique.
How to participate
Interested individuals are required to:
- Record themself performing an original song or a cover of any specially curated song on Lomtif, which can be accessed in the Music tab on the competition’s website or the Lomotif app.
- Upload their video using the hashtag #YouveBeenScouted.
- Request to be a collaborator and add their video to the #YouveBeenScouted channel on Lomotif.
Meanwhile, Lomotif this week announced that it was preparing to launch its service in India within three months. Last week, the company signed a licensing deal with Universal Music Group.
“Our deal with Universal Music Group will continue to grow users and increase engagement within our platform, a destination for emerging artists, and will significantly expand the types of music our community can utilise, collaborate with and share,” Lomotif founder and CEO Paul Yang said.
“With nearly 800 million videos created to date, we are heading in a great direction as a platform and making high-value content, functionality and features available to our community will only help us grow exponentially.”
