Call for applications: Diversity programme for content creators
StreamElements is calling on all content creators from underrepresented groups on Twitch, YouTube and Facebook Gaming to apply for its 2021 Creator Diversity Programme from November.
Participants will receive $5 000 allocated to spend on equipment, graphics and professional services as detailed in the programme.
Now in its second edition, the 12-month programme is designed to provide creators – including people of colour, women and LGBTQ+ groups, as well as individuals with disabilities – with professional livestreaming and VOD services, equipment, support, and mentorship to accelerate their broadcasting careers.
Participants will receive the following:
- $1 500 in Amazon gift cards to purchase content creation equipment (peripherals, hardware, software, etc.).
- Up to $2 500 paid to the third-party artist(s) of recipient creator’s choice for channel graphics (alerts, overlays, emotes, etc.).
- Up to $1 000 paid to the third-party individual(s) for professional services (video editing, headshots etc.).
- Monthly events featuring industry experts.
- Dedicated StreamElements creator success manager and access to a VIP discord server.
- Twelve-week ‘Fame and Fortune’ crash course (November – February).
- A webcam from Razer and a microphone from their elite suite of broadcast products to assist recipients with upgrading their streaming setup.
Eligibility:
To be eligible for the programme applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a member of an underrepresented group (black, people of colour, women, LGBTQ+, individuals with disabilities).
- Stream at least twice a week and/or upload two videos a week on Twitch, YouTube, or Facebook Gaming.
- Be 18 years or older.
Selection Criteria:
- Dedicated to building a career in content creation.
- Talent and growth potential.
- Inclusive community.
Requirements
Recipients will be asked to:
- Abide by the StreamElements community code of conduct.
- Attend most programme events, workshops, and coaching sessions (no more than five hours per month).
- Maintain a consistent streaming/content production schedule.
- Use select StreamElements tools for their stream or set up to achieve the full benefits of the programme.
