SA: Tresor releases ‘Smoke and Mirrors’ ft. Ami Faku
The single is available for streaming and download on all major digital platforms. It is off Tresor’s latest studio album Motion, and narrates a story of two lovers caught between a vague and confusing phase, yet keep fighting for better days, hoping to reignite the strong bond they once shared.
“The track was written right at the beginning of lockdown inspired by past real-life events,” Tresor said. “I think every relationship goes through blurry moments and I wanted to write a truly vulnerable song about that. She [Ami Faku] is incredible. Love her voice and she is actually hilarious, so it was fun.”
Tresor’s latest 14-track album is an impressive body of work featuring top local artists including Msaki, Da Capo, Sun-El Musician, Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa. ‘Smoke & Mirrors’ comes after the successful release of his singles ‘Lighthouse’ and ‘Makosa’, which are performing well on the radio charts in South Africa.
Born Mukengerwa Tresor Riziki in Goma, DRC, Tresor is a known for his unique sound. Since he relocated to South Africa, the award-winning artist has made an indelible mark on the Afropop scene in the country, boasting notable collaborations with top local musicians including AKA and Beatenberg, among others.
