Call for nominations: 2022 EMY Awards
Nominations are currently ongoing for the 2022 Exclusive Men of the Year Africa Awards (EMY Awards) scheduled for Accra, Ghana, in October.
- Last year, singer Stonebwoy received the Music Man of the Year Award.
Organised by EMY Africa Magazine and now in its sixth edition, the awards platform is a Father’s Day-related event that honours outstanding achievements by men and fathers.
The scheme recognises outstanding personalities across various fields including the creative arts, business, media, technology, sports and health. Since last year, the awards have also been expanded to include female achievers through the Woman of the Year and Young Achiever (Female) categories.
At last year’s ceremony, Ghanaian musicians Ebo Taylor and Stonebwoy received the Music Legend of the Year and Music Man of the Year Awards respectively. Other past EMY Awards winners include the late ethnomusicologist Prof Joseph HK Nketia and gospel artist Joe Mettle.
Interested individuals can nominate their favourite personalities here.
The nomination deadline is 4 May.
“Since 2016, EMY Africa has celebrated the best in men’s achievements across local industry, community, culture and public service,” EMY Africa said. “Dozens of men from all ages and walks of life have been honoured for their abilities, initiatives and contributions to society.”
