Call for applications: The Music Imbizo 2022
The Music Imbizo in South Africa is calling on curators/event promoters, booking agents, and speakers to apply for this year’s event in Durban from 23 to 28 August.
The Music Imbizo, formerly known as the KZN Music Imbizo, is an annual international music business conference. It features exhibitions, showcases, workshops, masterclasses and presentations that speak to the issues and challenges of the continent while providing practical solutions for players in the value chain of the music industry.
Applications can be sent via the Music Imbizo website in the following categories:
- Curators
- Speakers
- Event promoters
- Booking agents
The application deadline is 31 July.
Terms
- All mandatory fields must be completed.
- The Music Imbizo will cover transport (flights were applicable), ground transport and accommodation for a certain number of days for selected and formally invited curators and promoters.
- The Music Imbizo abides by all laws set in South Africa for local and international traveling. All and any medical tests and/or certificates will be at the delegate's costs.
- VISA costs will be reimbursed at least one month after the conference and after relevant proof is submitted.
- The Music Imbizo will do its best to verify the information given before and after the conference, if information is found to be false – this will be considered as fraud and the relevant authorities will be alerted.
- Late applications will not be considered.
The conference has grown to attract musicians, brands, and local and international speakers. Previous speakers include Nasty C (South Africa), Master KG (South Africa), the late Ladysmith Black Mambazo founder Joseph Shabalala (South Africa), former Warner Bros vice-president Seymour Stein (US), A&R Worldwide senior vice-president Monte Malone (US) and Chocolate City founder Audu Maikori (Nigeria), among many others.
