Call for entries: Mzantsi Jazz Awards 2022 in SA
South African jazz musicians and recording companies are invited to submit entries for the sixth edition of the Mzantsi Jazz Awards ceremony at the Soweto Theatre, Johannesburg, on 27 August.
The nominees will be announced via the media and the Mzantsi Jazz Awards website on 30 June. Entrants should submit work produced between 1 April 2021 to 31 March 2022.
Nominations may be submitted online by completing a nomination form here before 15 June.
“We love music and we love Mzantsi,” the organisers said. “We recognise the role of jazz music as a genre that deserves special attention in the evolving South African Music industry. The purpose is to celebrate, appreciate and venerate jazz as a musical form that not only entertains but also uplifts and heals the artist and the listener alike.”

- Best Female Jazz Artist
- Best Male Jazz Artist
- Best Foreign Jazz Artist
- Best Jazz Song
- Best International Collaboration Jazz Album
- Best Jazz Club
- Best Radio Station Playing Jazz Music
- Best Newcomer in Jazz
- Best Traditional Jazz Album
