Call for submissions: Sounds of Muziki 2022 compilation

The competition is part of the Muziki Africa platform at FAME Week Africa 2022, which takes place in Cape Town, South Africa, from 24 to 26 August.

Muziki Africa is a B2B marketplace focusing on the core music business, the music technology sector as well as brands and the agencies that represent them. It also is a platform for showcasing new African artists, musical trends and music-related products and services.

How it works

• Artists are invited to submit their hottest unreleased track for a chance to record and publish their latest single with Berlin-based label Paradise Sound System.
• FAME Week Africa is looking for independent artists with sublime music, a distinct vision and the determination to work independently.
• Eight successful artists will be featured on the compilation.
• Two of the eight winners will be invited to spend a day recording their potential hit at one of Cape Town's leading recording studios and will get access to the Muziki Conference at FAME Week Africa in August.

• The submission deadline is 5 August 2022.

“Finalising your ideas can be a process. That’s why Muziki Africa will be choosing two up-and-coming artists to record at a state-of-the-art studio with producers from the Berlin-based label Paradise Sound System,” Muziki Africa creative director Martin Hiller said. “Together with the championing independent label, the label behind the international release of smash hit ‘Osama’ by Zakes Bantwini, we want to give young talent the opportunity to create work of international standard. We are ready to hear from you!”
