Call for participation: Mitambo International Theatre Festival in Zim

This year’s edition will expand the genre of performances to encapsulate theatre and its intersection with music, poetry, performance art, dance and installations. Workshops and masterclasses will also be part of this year’s edition.

The festival will run under the theme, Converge – owing to social, economic, race, gender, substance abuse and political issues. This festival will offer a platform for artists, leaders and citizens from all walks of life to put their differences aside and converge for a common purpose of building a better world for humanity through theatre and art.

“We invite you to complete this online application form as an expression of interest to participate in the festival,” the organisers said. “If your performance is selected, the festival coordinator will send you a formal invitation letter to participate in the festival.

“The participants of the festival independently pay for their company travel expenses to and from the festival; visas and other documents required for entry into Zimbabwe. The organisers will cover the group’s local hospitality – including accommodation and meals – during the festival, local transport, performance venue and publicity.”
