Call for registrations: Free Byta workshop for industry insiders
Registrations are ongoing for the latest edition of music-sharing app Byta’s #HowWeListen Live: In Conversation online series slated for 28 March via Zoom.
- The forthcoming workshop will feature an in-depth conversation with Mike Warner about how playlists have affected and perhaps taken over the music ecosystem.
Hosted by industry vet and Byta’s founder, Marc Brown, the monthly event comprises a workshop and an in-depth interview session designed to deliver the knowledge to enable emerging artists and industry leaders to better navigate the music ecosystem.
This month’s edition, which is running under the theme, Streaming: Tools for Musicians to Succeed, will unfold in two parts:
- A workshop on tips and insights for tomorrow’s artists and music industry leaders with Byta founder Marc Brown. The workshop will introduce industry insights that Brown has picked up from his work in A&R departments, running his own radio promotion company, plus years of experience managing artists and significant large-scale projects. Some of the topics he will touch on include artists’ teams, timelines and connecting the web of the music industry, as well as tips on what artists can do themselves to better increase their chances of success.
- An in-depth conversation with Mike Warner, who is an independent artist, educator, author, speaker, music executive, curator and playlist strategy expert. He will discuss how playlists have affected and perhaps taken over the music ecosystem. He will discuss growth hacks for TikTok and Twitch and new artist tools for YouTube, plus how best to optimise playlists so an artist’s music gets heard.
