SA metal band Deadline releases third album Vitriol Inc
South African metal band Deadline has released its third full-length album Vitriol Inc.
The album – which pays homage to 1980s metal subgenres like trash, power metal and even glam – follows the release of four singles, namely ‘Cult of Prometheus’, ‘Monuments', ‘My ‘Sweet Apocalypse’ and ‘Vitriol’.
The 10-track offering is now available for streaming and download on all major music streaming services.
Deadline is part of an active South African metal scene, led by bands like Vulvodynia, Facing the Gallows, Peasant and Boargazm. The band has played on various stages across the country and has a dedicated following, who dub themselves the ‘Deadline Heavy Metal Crew’.
Deadline was formed in the capital Pretoria in 2014 and has since won six South African Metal Music Awards. The band’s line-up includes Jessy Switchblade (vocals), Judge Mental (guitar), The Skullprit (guitar), Damian Dread (bass) and Wrighteous Mike (drums).
The group will be playing tracks from Vitriol Inc live at their album launch shows at Woodstock Brewery in Cape Town on Friday 26 May with special guests The Fallen Prophets, and Railways Café in Centurion on Friday 2 June with Human Nebula and Wacken Metal Battle winners Middle Grounds. Deadline will also perform at the second edition of Untertage Metal Festival on 7 May.
