Make Music Lagos conference returns on 15 June
The 2023 Make Music Lagos Business Conference has been confirmed for the Jewel Aeida events centre in Lagos, Nigeria, on 15 June.
Now in its fifth year, the trade event, which will feature presentations, panels, workshops and showcases, brings together industry experts, artists, and music enthusiasts for a day of knowledge-sharing, collaboration and celebration of music.
Industry professionals including TuneCore head of West and East Africa Chioma Onuchukwu, entertainment lawyer Yemisi Falaye, filmmaker Jadesola Osiberu, musician Cobhams Asuquo and broadcaster Olisa Adibua have been confirmed for the event. They will discuss collaborations and partnerships that can benefit stakeholders within and outside the music landscape.
As part of the conference, YouTube will also host a workshop on maximising the use of the platform.
Admission is free for all attendees.
Meanwhile, ahead of the conference, TuneCore is offering sponsorship to two artists to perform on the Make Music Lagos Shutdown stage.
To participate, artists must:
- Follow @makemusiclagos and @tunecore.africa on Instagram.
- Distribute their music for free via TuneCore’s New Artist plan if not already a TuneCore artist.
- Share a video of their live performance (not exceeding two minutes) on Instagram, ensuring to tag @makemusiclagos and @tunecore.africa and use the hashtags #MakeMusicLagos and #SHUTDOWNCONCERT2023.

The submission deadline is 11 June.
Two winners will then be chosen, and their names will be unveiled on 14 June.
