Goethe-Institut Kenya launches database for female creatives
Goethe-Institut Kenya has launched a database for female creatives called FemBase.
FemBase aims to connect individuals or organisations looking to engage the services of female creatives in Kenya.
“Goethe-Institut acts as a mediator between services offered and the market,” the German cultural organisation said. “If you’re looking to work with a female videographer, for example, Goethe-Institut will forward contacts to the registered videographers under the database. Selection and engagement negotiations have to be done by the individuals themselves, as the Goethe-Institut is merely matchmaking.”
Those looking to acquire the services of creatives are required to get in touch with Goethe-Institut Nairobi at programm.nairobi@goethe.de, while female creatives looking for engagements can register with FemBase by filling out an application form and sending it to the aforementioned email address.
FemBase is part of FemLab, a project under Jenga CCI, which fosters engagements and helps to increase income opportunities for female creatives.
FemLab is an initiative that provides space for female creatives and entrepreneurs to mingle, network, collaborate and co-create. The free lab will host workshops, discussions and talks around relevant topics within the cultural and creative industries (CCIs). Those interested in partnering with FemLab can get in touch with Goethe-Institut at programm.nairobi@goethe.de.
