Listen to Major League DJz’s All Night Long single
South African music duo Major League DJz has released a new single titled ‘All Night Long’ featuring Elaine and Yumbs. The track is available for streaming and download on major streaming digital platforms.
Recorded in Los Angeles, ‘All Night Long’ is a South African dance track fused with Elaine’s intoxicating vocals. It is a celebration of black love and romance, and marks the first release by the duo this year.
“The aim was to put out a single that would resonate with our fans,” Major League DJz said. “We have played it at multiple shows and the reaction from the fans has been so positive that we had no choice but to give the people what they want.”
Major League DJz has had successful releases including Piano Republik, a joint project with Major Lazer. The duo is currently on tour in the US and is set to be in South Africa for a media Junket on 24 August. The junket will be hosted by Warner Music Africa where Yumbz and Elaine will also get a chance to share the journey of this new single.
Born in exile to a family of anti-apartheid campaigners, the twin brothers grew up in Boston, Massachusetts, where their family moved in the same social circles as legendary South African musicians like Hugh Masakela, Caiphus Semenya, Letta Mbulu and Miriam Makeba. These associations offered the twins an unconventional education on South African jazz and popular African music, which they paired with hip hop that they loved in America.
Following the end of apartheid, the brothers returned to South Africa and began organising parties. They began deejaying as high schoolers, filling in for DJs who missed their well-attended parties. The brothers have hosted parties for global stars such as Akon, Fat Joe, and 50 Cent and have collaborated with Vigro Deep, Tyler ICU, Boohle and Kabza De Small, among others.
