Open call: Zimbabwe Musicians Union workshop in Chinhoyi
The Zimbabwe Musicians Union (ZIMU) is inviting musicians based in the Mashonaland West province to register for a workshop at Cooksey Hall in Chinhoyi on 20 February.
The training session is part of the union’s workshop series that were conducted in Chitungwiza, Bulawayo, Gweru, Mutare, Masvingo, Mashonaland Central and Matabeleland South.
The workshop will be conducted under the theme, Musician as a Worker and aim of determining whether musicians view themselves as workers.

Requirements
- Participants need to be singers, producers, instrumentalists, producers, etc.
- Zimbabwean nationals.
- Participants must be willing to take part in the workshop in its entirety.
- Registrations are only open to serious and dedicated artists.
Besides the workshop, participants will elect committee members with assistance from ZIMU management, which will conduct the voting process.
“Hello 2024! We are back on the road again and as promised, we will be in Mashonaland West this coming Tuesday on 20 February,” ZIMU said. “All musicians are invited to attend the workshop which aims to address welfare issues regarding musicians.”
