SA: The Soil shares Reimagined album, announces tour
South African a capella group The Soil has released a new 11-track album titled Reimagined. The project is available for streaming and download(link is external) on major digital platforms.
Some of the songs on the project include ‘Thandwa Ndim’ featuring Thee Legacy, ‘Khetha Mna’ featuring Nduduzo Makhathini and ‘Nkanyezi’ featuring Bokani Dyer and Joel Klein. The project marks the group’s first release since 2016.
The album release follows the induction of a new member Theo Matshoba last year to replace Buhlebendalo Mda, who left to pursue a solo career. The Soil’s other members are Luphindo Ngxanga and Ntsika Ngxanga. Theo Matshoba’s seamless integration into the unit promises to elevate The Soil’s sound.
The record release will be followed by the Reimagined Tour, a celebration of their signature sound infused with a new dynamic that is intense, mature and spiritual. Known for its soulful harmonies and captivating performances, The Soil has captivated audiences worldwide with their unique blend of kasi soul, jazz, and gospel influences.
“We are thrilled to be back doing what we love most – sharing our music with our incredible fans,” The Soil said. “With our new vocalist adding a fresh dimension to our sound, we can't wait to hit the stage and create unforgettable memories together.”
The tour will kick-off at the Star Theatre in Cape Town on 9 March, followed by the State Theatre in Tshwane on 26 April. The trio will perform at the Boardwalk Hotel and Casino in Gqeberha (31 May), Soweto Theatre (23 August), the Playhouse Theatre in Durban (27 September) and conclude at the Performing Arts Centre of the Free State in Bloemfontein on 26 October.
