Etivaldo Victorino Joaquim, widely known as Ellputo, is a mozambican born in 1988 and established himself as one of Mozambique's most influential, and internationalized music producers.
His roots trace back to 2000 in Maputo, where he initially emerged in the music scene as a member of the group 360 Graus, collaborating with prominent figures in Mozambican rap. This experience paved the way for the formation of a younger offshoot, Young 60s, which nurtured the talent of then promising artists such as Hernâni da Silva and Lalizzy, who are now celebrated successes across borders.
The year 2011 marked a pivotal expansion for Sameblood as its influence extended beyond
Mozambique, gaining international recognition.This is when Ellputo's career took a significant leap forward, leading to collaborations with a spectrum of artists.
He signed with GEOBEK Records in South Africa, showcased his talent in Coke Studio, and created music that transcended generations. His collaborative roster includes a blend of local artists such as LayLizzy, Hernâni da Silva, Lizha James, Neyma, Wazimbo, and international sensations like A.K.A, MiCasa, and Burna Boy. Such global reach highlights Ellputo's versatility and impact in the music industry, both in Mozambique and abroad.
Ellputo’s evolution as an artist caused him to reinvent himself and transition from just a music producer into a career as a celebrity DJ, specializing in amapiano and afro tech genres. His debut EP, “Ellputology,” was released in 2021, followed by the amapiano singles "Swa Ni Fanela" and "Na Wena".
His innovative franchise, the “Ellputo Music Experience” kept thousands entertained during the pandemic, showcasing his live mixes and few exclusive tracks, not only to an exclusive audience hand-picked to attend in person but to a broader public online. Ellputo;s music experience has gained substantial popularity on YouTube, amassing over 200,000 views.
