Call for auditions: Twaweza Live Rift Valley
Kenyan telco and mobile money transfer service provider Safaricom is calling on musicians, DJs and hype masters based in the Rift Valley region to audition for a chance to perform at the Twaweza Live concert tour, which kicks off in Nakuru.
The concert tour is a seven-month campaign launched on 7 May to engage with communities in the Rift, Central, Eastern, Coast, Nyanza, Western and Nairobi regions through free medical camps, campus takeovers, device offers, talent search activities, youth mentorship programmes and concerts.
The campaign's focus is also on growing and nurturing local music talent by giving artists from various local communities a chance to perform live.
Successful candidates will share the stage with musicians Naiboi, Vivian, Redsan, Nyashinski, Mercy Masika, Sweet Star, DJ Joe Mfalme and DJ Malaika, and tour Nakuru before heading to Kericho and finally Eldoret.
Auditions will be held at Boma Inn, Eldoret, on 23 May. The auditions will take place between 9am and 5pm and participants need to be a residents of Rift Valley province.
Requirements
Participants must be in possession of:
- Their national ID card.
- Safaricom’s music app, Songa, on their phones.
Auditions will be based on a first come, first served basis. Participants will be required to cater for their own food and transportation.
