Open call: Global Creative Legal Summit in Nigeria
Registration is currently ongoing for the inaugural Global Creative Legal Summit (GCLS) scheduled to take place in Lagos, Nigeria, from 17 to 20 September 2024.
GCLS supports legal professionals in the creative industry by offering training, mentorship, and networking opportunities. It’s held in partnership with Africa Creative Market Global, an initiative focused on developing and mentoring talent while promoting business growth in the creative industry.
“As a lawyer specialising in the creative economy for the past decade, I’m eager to highlight the remarkable achievements of my peers and enhance the skills of lawyers in this vibrant field,” Nigerian entertainment lawyer and GCLS founder Oyinkansola Fawehinmi said.
This year, the conference is running under the theme Creative Industry and the Law: Unleashing Africa’s Creative Economy Potential through Innovative Legal Knowledge and Solutions.
Highlights of the summit, slated for the landmark Event Centre, Water Corporation Road, Victoria Island Annex, include:
- Expert-led panel sessions on entertainment and creative economy law.
- Masterclasses for lawyers in music, film, and fashion.
- Workshops on entrepreneurship and personal branding for creative lawyers.
- 30 hours of free legal consultations for 60 creatives.
