Bio
Established in 1922, the British Broadcasting Corporation’s (BBC) radio stations are music archives whose collections features highlights from trips around the world. This includes rare traditional music from Africa and the Asian continents recorded on-location from the year 2000. The archive’s collections are from the World on 3 show broadcast BBC’s Radio 3. The music archives are available as analogue and digital radio, digital television and online via the BBC iPlayer Radio.
The archives include music from the Commonwealth Connections Feature from Zambia, Trinidad, Tobago, Uganda, Botswana and Namibia. It also boasts of music from music festivals in Mali as well as recordings from countries such as Ghana, Cameroon, Mozambique and South Africa.
