African Music Council (AMC)

The African Music Council (Conseil africain de la musique) operates as the regional group of the International Music Council (IMC), which in turn operates under the auspices of UNESCO. The AMC was established in Brazzaville in July 2009. Still based in Brazzaville, the AMC is a forum for leading roleplayers in the African music sector. It is also involved in the organisation of the IMC's African Music Rostrum, which has been held 11 times since its first edition in 1975, most recently in Brazzaville in August 2014.
