Eddie Grey
Bio
Eddie Grey has been defined as a forerunner in the Jazz and fusion scene in East and Central Africa.
With critically acclaimed album 'No Trains to Kibera', which was his symphonic response to Kenya's post-election violence in 2007, Eddie Grey has continued to mirror the issues of his society through fusion of both local ethnic and Western themes.
Eddie Grey is a songwriter, composer, producer and arranger. His style is not definitive, which he broadly expresses through his guitar playing. A self-taught musician, he playfully crosses over from one genre to the next, though he is heavily influenced by jazz harmony, classical arrangement, African rhythm and electronic grooves.
He has shared stages with numerous local and international artists such as Gerald Albright, Jonathan Butler, Sven Kacirek, Thandiswa Mazwai and Nduduzo Makathini, among others.
