Shamsila

Shamsila is a young Tanzanian Hip-Hop artist who is inspired by Jay Z. He started music while in primary school. He performed in various school competitions in Arusha.

After completing secondary school he began entertaining at UAACC both as a solo performer, or with bands like Warriors from the East.

By 2011, he had become a fully fledged artist, releasing his first hip-hop song

Shamsila has collaborated with different artists, including Zanele ( South Africa) traditional music singer Shango ( United state ) hip-hop artist Servanna (United States ) R'nB singer Lavosti (Kenya )Reggae musician and drums player and Mama C ( United States & Tanzania ) singer of Jazz, raggae and hip-hop styles.

Shamsila uses his skills and lyrics to address deep socio-economic struggles in modern-day Tanzania . He has performed in regional festivals including DOADOA festival and Jambo festival.

Shamsila has shared the stage with Mani Martin from Rwanda and Staph from Manchester.
