Call for applications: Electroacoustic music training for composers
The Collaborative Electroacoustic Composition with Intelligent Agents (CECIA) art project is inviting composers from around the world to apply for an online music composition training programme on electroacoustic music.
The produced compositions will be premiered in Germany at the ZKM Centre for Art and Media Karlsruhe in December.
CECIA, which is funded by Interfaces Network and the Creative Europe Programme of the EU, integrates the creative agency of five composers and machine-learning algorithms to produce a coherent composition of electroacoustic music.
All creative contents generated during the programme will be licensed under a Creative Commons Licence, which allows the ZKM and Interfaces Network the right to publish them in any physical or digital format.
The selected composers are expected to work remotely, using a customised cloud computing platform, and will receive support by the project moderators, Kosmas Giannoutakis and Artemi-Maria Gioti.
Successful applicants will be taken through a collaborative process of composition, which will take place in a fixed period of four months, from 1 August to 30 November 2019. The composition process will include music creation, harnessing the creativity of electroacoustic composers and intelligent agents through the cloud computing platform.
Each composer will receive a fee of €400. The application deadline is 30 April and successful applicants will be notified via email by 30 May 30 2019.
