Energy Mutodi

Bio

Energy Mutodi was born on 4 August 1978. He is a sungura musician who ventured into music in 2012. He has so far released ten albums. Before establishing his own band (2011), Mutodi Express, he first led the old Real Sounds of Africa band for a year. He rose to fame with songs such as ‘Angelina’, ‘Chigorodanda’ and ‘Tozosangana’ taken from his ‘Simbi YaMdhara’ debut album. Some of his albums include ‘Kumasese’, ‘Sekawo Mbichana’, ‘Magetsi Ngaabake’, ‘Kuita Kuri Kwenyu’, ‘Chimvuramabwe’, ‘Ndinorota Landlord’, ‘Chidhedhedhe’, ‘Ndiri Munzira Kuuya’, ‘Ndinokutendai’ and ‘I Thank You’.

His last album has a song called ‘Havo Ndibaba’ where he praises Zimbabwe’s Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa. Apart from music, he is also a businessman and an academic. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree at the University Of Zimbabwe (UZ) in 2001. He went to South Africa and enrolled at Witwatersrand where he graduated with a Certificate in Defense Management. In 2011 he was at UZ doing a Masters Degree in Business Administration.
