Mrisho Mpoto

Mrisho Mpoto is one of East Africa's leading new generation of Kiswahili poets. His fame throughout the region is also unrivaled as actor, theatre director and a story-teller.

Mrisho Mpoto resides in Dar es Salaam, where he spent many years working with Parapanda Theatre Lab. His artistic accomplishments are many and varied within the performing arts sector, where poetry-recital is his strongest passion.

He has performed widely at festivals throughout Africa, Europe and the Far East. In 2014, he released a music video for 'Waite' (call them).
