Kwesta drops Run It Up featuring Rich Homie Quan
Kwesta takes Rich Homie Quan to the hood with his new song and music video ‘Run It Up’.
‘Run It Up’ is finally here after the lyricist kept his fans in suspense with a painful countdown on social media this week. The audio is now available for streaming on platforms such as Spotify and Deezer.
Rich Homie Quan’s rich melodic tone breaks the ice, with an overlaid, catchy hook ensnaring the listener throughout the track before the multi-SAMA award winner takes the audience on a retrospective journey of his success.
Kwesta seems to be on a mission to bring US stars to South African townships. The Ofentse Mwase-directed video is set in Katlehong and is reminiscent of the typical township lifestyle on a carefree day: the classic Gusheshes (BMW 325is) spinning, jovial children playing in the streets, and of course random hot girls in sight.
Mr DaKAR’s obsession with iNgud (quart of beer) seems to have rubbed off on Rich Homie Quan who is spotted holding one in the video. ‘Run It Up’ marks yet another collaboration for Kwesta, who has also worked with Wale and Rick Ross, among others.
Overall a decent collaborative effort in the run up to Kwesta's anticipated Dakar III album release next year.
