Background
Born and raised in the Eastern Cape in a township called Izinyoka, Ami Faku realised she could sing from a young age when she was obliged to sing at church.

Her passion for music was fuelled by a supportive family who kept her going even through 2 rejections at the pre-auditions of Idols SA. In 2016 Ami Faku decided to give the hopes of a music career one last shot when she auditioned for The Voice SA where she successfully made it through the auditions and weekly elimination rounds until she reached the Top 16 spot in 2017.
