Coton d'Afrik & The Sailors
Bio
Coton d’Afrik & The Sailors is a pan-African group with five members, two of which are major.
Based in Morocco, they are from Congo, Cote d'Ivoire and Morocco. A diversity that makes them unique and powerful. It is with a lot of passion and commitment that they collaborate recently.
It all started in 2008. A chance meeting in the city of Fes between a young musician ( Enoc Mosaya ) with classical influences, blues and folklore, graduated from Kinshasa Conservatory, computer science student and a refugee singer ( Didier Kabeya ) with influences Rumba, Folk and Soukouss, whose only dream at that moment was to go to Europe by all means. The musical current passes immediately between the two and their fusion is born the rhythm "EkuatoSoul". The crazy dream of immigration of Didier is then quickly forgotten. They evolve in pubs for several years while caressing in secret the desire to make known their project. They end up abandoning this universe to devote themselves exclusively to the evolution of the latter. Following their first achievements in the "Red Room Records", musician friends believe in them, join them and eventually become "The Saillors". "Afrik Cotton & the Sailors" will see the day in 2017.
" Coton d'Afrik & The Sailors " is known on the Moroccan music scene, through its numerous appearances.
The Rabat Africa Festival is no longer happening for several editions already. Festivals TARAGALTE, OUDAYAS, JAZZABLANCA and many others have also had the pleasure of receiving them. The color he releases through rhythm, voices and dance conquered the audience for each of his performances. He participates in the 2018 contest "The African Dream" with the song "MOTO (the man in Lingala)" and is a winner in his category. Currently 2 singles (OUDJI ANU AND MOTO), are on all platforms of download.
For them, "life without music is simply a mistake, a fatigue, an exile“.
