DJ Faya

Fayaz Hamide was born in August 1986. He is a Mozambican DJ and music producer who began his career in 2000.

He soon stood out and caught the attention of restaurants and event organizers and became a regular presence at various events across the country.

Over her 20-year career, Faya has performed on several national and international stages and performed duets with musicians from various musical styles such as house music, kizomba, electronica, among others.

2013-Releases the first CD called Tá Proprovado Vol. 1.
2013-He wins the award for best male artist and best dance song, at the Mozambique Music Award (MMA) with the song “Bondoro”,
in partnership with the musician.
2014-Releases the song “Agarra”, featuring musician Tweenty Finger, which won him an award for best tropical song at the Mozambique Music Award.
2015-Wins the award for best DJ in Mozambique, at the Mozambique Music Award. This category earned him two more awards.
2018-Wins the award for best music video at the Mozambique International Music Award, with the song “Last Storm” remix, featuring Granmah
2019-Releases the second CD entitled Tá Proprovado Vol. 2.
2020-Participated in the song to combat the COVID-19 pandemic entitled “Fica em Casa”

SOME PARTICIPATIONS
Faya discovered very early on where she wanted to go with her songs and always put persistence and creativity into her mixes.
2016-He tours Brazil, Holland and Portugal, where he performed in the main cities such as Campinas (BR), Salvador (BR), São Paulo (BR) and Lisbon (PT).
2017-He is on his second tour of the main clubs in Portugal and Brazil such as Docks Club, Krystal Grand Club and Lisboa Rio.
2018-He plays for the first time, in the eating houses of Thailand, England, Spain and in the summer of Portugal.
2019-He conquers the North American public with a memorable performance in Miami.

PROJECTS
Nostalgia – Old is Gold The Nostalgia project is a concept created by Dj Faya with the aim of bringing to the present the best moments and songs that were successful in the past. It is a live event that takes place every Saturday, from 3pm to 5pm, via the digital platform Facebook. Sunday at home

It is a music and chat project, in partnership with the Vodacom mobile phone company, which emerged with the aim of entertaining families during the pandemic. The live event took place on Dj Faya's Instagram.

CONQUERING AFRICA THROUGH MUSIC

Music is one of the African identities and one of the most powerful forms of communication. 20 years ago, DJ Faya discovered his passion for music and has never stopped since. During the two decades, he made more than 10 tours throughout Portuguese-speaking countries and the world.

His notes express the robustness of African origins in a progressive narrative focusing on cultural industries and institutional teaching of art and culture.
