Hembadoon

Hembadoon is a singer, songwriter, thespian, music executive, radio host and entrepreneur out of Nigeria who attributes her craft to the broad range of music she was exposed to from a very young age including Western music, Fuji, Juju, and a broad range of African music.

With her first commercial single 'Odo Aye' dominating radio charts in the North as far back as 2003, Hembadoon went on to work as an on-air Radio personality, a contributing entertainment writer in one of Nigeria's national Newspapers, sang backup for South African singer Somti Mndebele on her Nigerian tour and worked as a Public Relations and A&R executive for corporates and on the teams of some of today's biggest Afrobeat superstars, in her over a decade long career, including Ice Prince, Asa, Burna Boy, and Simi.

Hembadoon relaunched her commercial music career in 2020 with the release of her single 'Lady'. Her quest to improve her craft led her into musical theatre where she stood out writing a song for a feature play in the British Council Lagos theatre Festival (2019) and performing in leading and supporting roles for and at the Musical Society of Nigeria (MUSON June, October 2021) as well as delivering a command performance before the Vice President of Nigeria, Prof Yemi Osinbajo in December 2021. She reprised her notable role as women activist, Hajiya Gambo Sawaba in #OMGTheMusical at the European Union celebration of IWD 2022 on March 8, in Abuja right after a Live musical performance before dignitaries at the NLNG International Energy Summit closing ceremony on March 4, 2022.

In line with her brand identity and Moniker "LADY", Hembadoon has launched a line of brand items starting off with her Lady T-Shirts - available on Hembadoon.com, and a "Lady Live" showcase series with her 9-man band, "The Lady Force". The "LADY LIVE" events hosts fans, family and misic industry artistes & executives.

Hembadoon's ambition is to leave a lasting legacy & grow her audience across different continents which she has set out to do. She has performed at the NEWSKOOL RULES Conference & Urban Festival for Independent Artistes in Rotterdam from 7th to 9th October 2022, at the World Women's Music Festival Montreal Export Edition in Accra Ghana from Nov 16 - 21, 2022, the Escale Bantoo musical festival in Yaounde, Cameroon in June 2023 and Women's Festival in Montreal Canada, July 2023. She now performs her music on stages in Luxembourg, and is set on promoting her music across the continent.

Hembadoon currently hosts a show called AFRIKULTURE MIX On ARA City Radio Luxembourg. The show celebrates African Cultures in Luxembourg and Europe, and airs every other Sunday at 1.00pm.
