From an avid listener to an enthusiastic music producer, M. Rumbi is constantly creating and pushing himself and this shows itself with his consistent releases. In November 2020 he released a 4-track EP titled “Not All That”to positive review with it being featured in various blogs and magazines across the continent. “Not All Thatis a cleverly written and compiled EP that takes you first through a rollercoaster oftalentedlyricism, andthen raw emotion and a stellar production quality.”saysMwesh Mwandishi of Tangaza Magazine.With a sonic shift in2021 M. Rumbi has taken a step back to his roots, with slower more minimal tracks. On this shift,he stated,“This is where Istarted and it’s a type of music I’ve always wanted to makeand I finallyfeel likeI can make it so I am”.Providing a bit of this with his first release of the year “Daima”and following it up with his low-key release in March of his EP “Weakdays”he shows he’s not lost any of his ability despite the sonic transition.M. Rumbi’s next release is slated for the end of May.
