M.I.G is an artist from Namibia.
Hailing from Rundu, the capital of Namibia’s Kavango-East region, M.I.G. have the sound of the motherland in their pulse, moving from soft ballad-type songs to more lustrous Afropop bangers with an ease that reflects the diversity of their group. The sextet consists of Callous, Rockid, Slim D, Jimmy, P-Star, and Chuwee the Drummer.
Some of their earliest solo efforts include the songs, “Friday” and “Tjaka Waya,” which received support from pan-African media network, NBC Africa, and music media conglomerate, Trace Television.
The group’s debut album “Unkurungu” brought more attention to M.I.G., placing them on a pedestal for further success.
Their June 2020 song, “Keep My Soul,” was a response to the state of the world as several countries had to lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic going on to win a number of acclaim in Namibia including being selected to be performed by contestants in the country’s version of The Voice (Voice Perfect Namibia); being voted among the top 10 songs of the year by respected Namibian radio station, Fresh FM.
