Murphy

Murphy Kuamba Mayala, known by his stage name as Murphy, was born in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo. He is one of the artists that is being managed by Yangambi.

Murphy has been introduced in his early age to various cultures. No matter where he lived, music has always been a big part of his life. Murphy overcame a lot at a young age with his family and therefore music has always been an outlet for him. At the same time his experiences with his mother’s death and the disintegration of the family served him as a source of inspiration to continue to make music and write his own lyrics. Early on he was performing with the Dutch rapper duo The Opposites.

Murphy has developed into a versatile musician and his new EP, Bolingo Secret in Lingala (translated: Secret Love) is out right now.
