It’s been an incredible climb for TAWVN (The Artist With Various Names). From recording and producing in a bedroom studio, the songstress has gone on to perform at YFM, and to having her music played on radio stations across the country, and has even performed in Major Lazer's ‘Particula’ music video.

TAWVN (pronounced 'tuh-varn') then released the #ThePromiseVideo - her debut music video - which was picked up by Channel O.

TAWVN is only at the root of her music career, yet she has been able to catch the attention of the acclaimed radio youth station, YFM. She has had the opportunity to have her start at a pinnacle platform: The YFM ‘Live and ReYired’ Show.

With inspirations ranging from Jabu Khanyile, Angelique Kidjo, to Janelle Monae and FKA Twigs, it is no surprise that she is unique, skilled, fearless, and innovative in her approach and delivery.

Her training, certification, and experience in and through the KwaZulu Natal Youth Choir laid the foundations for her operatic and classical music and vocal training that she received at Rhodes University - where she was trained to use her voice as an instrument.

From just having a vision and dream of releasing her first EP album to being in Major Lazer’s & DJ Maphorisa’s ‘Particula’ music video, TAWVN continues to receive inspiration that compels her to continue elevating her trajectory.
