Née dans une famille de musiciens en RDC, WeeLye prend très tôt goût à la musique, en écoutant sa tante chanteuse dans le fameux groupe de rumba congolaise « OK Jazz » de Franco
Luambo Makiadi et son oncle guitare/bass de Zaïko Langa Langa Stars . Mais il faudra attendre de nombreuses années, avant qu’elle ne décide de faire entendre sa voix.
WeeLye est devenue une talentueuse chanteuse/compositrice qui n’hésite pas à jongler avec les mots en français, lingala et anglais.

Elle s’est faite un nom au niveau international : Amérique du Nord et Europe, en assurant entre autres les premières parties de Erykah Badu, FéFé .. Ou partageant la scène avec des artistes tels que Keziah Jones, Faada Freddy, Camille BazBaz ..
Son 1er album est en cours d’enregistrement entre New York, Stockhlom et Paris.

Sa musique métissée est une vraie découverte. Un talent authentique et une voix pleine de force et de nuances à ne pas manquer !

Born into a family of musicians in Congo (DRC), Africa, WeeLye has become a very talented Singer songwriter of Folk/Pop Songs with a Soul Acoustic touch.

She discovered the joy of music by listening to her Aunt sings in the famous Congolese Rumba Band « OK JAZZ » of Franco Luambo Makiadi and her uncle guitarist/bass player of Zaïko Langa Langa Stars. But it will be many years before she decides to make her voice heard.

WeeLye has brilliantly combined her Congolese Rumba Roots with the news vibes of American Soul mixing Latin and African Rumba beats with Folk-Pop melodies and a touch of Jazz.
She has made herself a name at the international level : North Amercica and Europe, ensuring among others the gig's openings of Erykah Badu, Féfé or sharing the stage with artists such Keziah
Jones, Faada Freddy or the french singer Camille BazBaz ...
Her debut album is being recorded between New York, Stockholm and Paris.
Singing in French, English and Lingala (congolese dialect), her mixed music is a real discovery. An authentic talent and a voice full of strength and nuances, not to be missed.
