Ythera

Ythera is a prolific singer-songwriter, performing artist, professional background vocalist and music entrepreneur based in Nairobi, Kenya. She shares a passion for all things music and a desire to see our creative industry grow, thrive, and become sustainable. Currently , she works in the Kenyan music industry as a performing artist and manager,, with a collective of six diverse musicians known as Wanavokali, who have been making waves in Nairobi with our hit single 'Rhumba' and debut album. She also serves as the Managing Director and one of the founding members of their company Wanavokali Entertainment Limited. Their  products and services as an organization are centered around music and entertainment; Music releases, live performances, songwriting for artists, ads (jingles) and film, and background vocals.

With an 8-year long career in music, Ythera has also had the opportunity of performing on big stages such as Coke Studio Arica and The Safaricom Twaweza Live National Tour. Most notably (2020), with Wanavokali, she participated in the inaugural regional singing competition, known as Old Mutual Amazing Voices Africa that took place in Johannesburg, South Africa. They emerged as the winners, beating other competitors from Ghana, Zimbabwe and South Africa, and bringing the title back home. This enabled them to successfully launch their career as a collective in the Kenyan music space. As a collective, Wanavokali is  currently looking to expand their music reach o other countries within the region and globally and become one of  Kenya's biggest musical exports.
