Zakhele Mabena

Mr. Pro (born Zakhele Mabena) is an award winning musician, producer and a sound engineer from South Africa.

He is also a co-owner of Open Mic Production and Arts in Motion music academy. His musical background is amazing and credible, having worked on big television projects and also with big names in the entertainment industry. A music teacher with an ear for good sounds; Zakhele has scored music for popular television programmes on SABC and DSTV. To name a few he has done music for Mthunzini.com, Tshisa, Moferefere lenyalong and Streets of Mangaung.

He is currently the resident band member for SABC 2’s “Its Gospel Time” and he does the mixing for the production as well. He has also produced and worked with artist such as Mathapelo, Letang, Zubz, Pebbles, Harold McKenzie, Ringo Madlingonzi, Unathi, Sello Galane; the list is endless.

He also directed music for theatre work such as Sophiatown, Freedom the musical with his work being nominated and won awards such as Naledi theatre awards, South African Music Awards, Metro Fm awards and Crown Gospel Music awards,. Zakhele won a Naledi award for best scoring, arranging and adaptation for the production 'Marikana' the musical in 2015.

As of 2021, he was the director and the creator of a theatre production show called 'Isambulo the musical'.

He has travelled the world with different artists; performing in various countries such as Finland, Holland, Mozambique and Hungary.
