Zenji Boy ( Ison Mistari) is rapper, dj and producer his music inspired by local traditional music of Zanzibar likes kidumbaku, taarab, msewe fused with hip hop music. Zenji boy is only one rapper in Tanzania playing traditional instrument oud and violin and gets his style of music called taarap.His music talking about politics, loves, unity, community development and inspired youth in social development.
Zenji Boy won the Best Music Video and Best Male Act awards at the at Zenj255 Awards in 2017 and 2018, respectively . 2020 won ermason awards, 2021 won Zanzibar youth awards as best artist of the year.
