AFROSON1C X partners SXSW London to showcase West African talent

As part of the collaboration, AFROSON1C X will present a selected line-up of West African artists, providing them with a major international platform. The partnership aims to highlight the region’s diverse and rapidly expanding music scene, introducing fresh and dynamic sounds to new audiences.

AFROSON1C X is a showcase festival and industry conference that sits at the crossroads of music, technology, and the arts. Set to launch in Accra, Ghana, in 2026, its mission is to connect African creatives with global opportunities, foster cross-cultural collaborations, and shape the future of the industry in West Africa.

Renowned for celebrating the intersection of music, film, and interactive industries, South by Southwest (SXSW) is one of the world’s most influential festivals. Its inaugural UK edition in 2025 has already confirmed high-profile headliners, including Tems and Idris Elba. The AFROSON1C X stage is expected to introduce an exciting new wave of talent, strengthening connections between Africa and the global music industry.

AFROSON1C X founder Tom Russell described the partnership as a major milestone for the organisation, calling SXSW “the world’s premier industry showcase festival and conference.” He emphasised that being named a co-curator for its first London edition was a significant step forward, reinforcing AFROSON1C X’s commitment to developing a thriving music industry in West Africa and laying the groundwork for its own festival launch in Accra in 2026.
