Apple Music features Musa Keys on Home Session programme
South African amapiano producer Musa Keys has been added to Apple Music’s Home Session programme.
Home Session features reimagined signature songs and thoughtful covers recorded by artists at home with no fancy studios or bandmates but just extraordinary talent.
“In the spirit of the times, we’ve asked some of our favourite artists across the genres to record an exclusive Apple Music Home Session, with one particular challenge: to set up from home and reimagine their own signature tracks, plus record thoughtful cover versions,” Apple Music said.
Musa Keys told Apple Music that the lockdown taught him anything is possible. “I’ve bettered my craft and my sound changed and improved as a whole. It also made me realise that my mother raised me to be a superstar. These songs for my Apple Music Home Session are very close to my heart and the musical dynamics around them are 'delicious', that’s why I picked them.”
The Home Session EP, available to stream on Apple Music in Spatial Audio, features four songs, including two unreleased tracks called ‘Big Choppa’ and ‘Selema/Sphalaphala’.
Born and raised in Ivy Park, Limpopo, Musa Keys successfully produced his first song when he was 14 laying the foundation for his career as a beatmaker and producer to flourish from an early age. He has continued to produce chart-topping hits like his debut single ‘Samarian Boy’ and ‘Vula Mlomo’ featuring Sir Trill and Nobantu Vilakazi. He has alo worked with a number of top local musicians, including DBN Gogo and Major League DJz.
