Botswana: Danielle Swagger releases COVID-19 track
Reunion-based motswana rapper Danielle Swagger has released a song titled ‘Leader’ in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
‘Leader’ is written and produced by Swagger and Alex Sorres respectively. It is sung in English, Setswana, Creole and French.
“’Leader’ reflects reality and a part of my truth,” Danielle Swagger told Music In Africa. “Although you’ve been through hardships, you need get up and man up.
“The world doesn’t stop for anyone; you have to go for your dreams and that’s your only claim to fulfilment. The song is an extraordinary build from my previous material. I had to pause all my projects and focus on this song to keep my fans awakened. The song is intended at making people feel positive during these trying times and be leaders in their thinking.”
Swagger encouraged people to be vigilant during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“What we are facing in the world right now is a crisis. It’s still hard to believe that people are dying all over the world because of COVID-19 and that we have to stay indoors to protect ourselves,” she said.
“It’s not easy to hold back from paranoia for everyone right now. We can only hope a cure can be found so we can move on from this nightmare. My people, please follow all the regulations submitted to us by the World Health Organization and be well informed on the coronavirus so you can protect yourself and your loved ones.”
