Call for applications: African Culture Fund
The African Culture Fund (ACF) is calling on performing and visual artists to apply for funding to support their activities and projects.
The funding is intended for African artists and interested artists can apply here.
The application deadline is 12 October.
Performing arts
The projects involved in this call are activities and projects of creation, production and dissemination of works and capacity building in the field of the performing arts, such as music, dance and theatre.
Visual arts
The projects involved in this call are activities and projects of creation, production and dissemination of works and capacity building in the field of visual arts. This call concerns the traditional visual arts, photography, digital art, decorative arts (textile art and design) as well as all pre-production, production, post-production, distribution and distribution activities. The following cinematographic and audio-visual disciplines are also welcome: fiction/animation (short films, medium-length films, feature films or series), documentaries (unitary or in series) and video art.
Application guidelines
Applicants should:
- Be an African artist or cultural actor or from the African diaspora, an artistic or cultural organisation or association established in Africa or cooperating on African projects with at least one African organisation and having at least three years of experience.
- Have a structure or be a member of an artistic or cultural organisation or association.
- Have a legal status (organisations).
- Present a structuring project in response to the call for projects.
“For any request made in this call, the maximum budget is $10 000,” the ACF said. “Projects must be completed for a period not exceeding 18 months. The ACF does not grant mobility grants. However, travel expenses can be covered when they are part of the implementation of a project.”
