Open call: South African Cultural Observatory survey

Funded by the Africa-Europe Foundations, SACO is conducting a study on the impact of cultural cooperation on skills development and career growth, on young South Africans.

Why take the survey?

• Influence policies and future cultural programmes.
• For participants to share their experiences and challenges.
• Help shape better opportunities for young creatives.
• Help advocate for stronger funding, mentorship, and networking opportunities in the African-European cultural ecosystem.

Participation is voluntary and anonymous. Data will be protected under the POPI Act (2013) and used solely for this study.

Cultural cooperation initiatives are programmes supported by European countries which support development in the cultural field in South Africa. Such initiatives may involve one or more of the following formats: workshops, master classes, short courses, mentoring, co-productions, internships, residencies, study tours, mobility and touring of work, professional meetings, conferences and network events. These initiatives may also involve exchanges, collaborations and co-productions among arts professionals from South Africa and the country providing support, as well as support for exchanges with arts professionals from other African countries.
