Call for applications: Art for Social Change grant in Egypt
Teens Club, a youth-led institution based in Cairo, Egypt, is accepting applications for the second phase of the Art for Social Change programme.
The programme is funded by the British Council’s Developing Inclusive and Creative Economies (DICES) fund for creative and social enterprises in Brazil, Egypt, Indonesia, Pakistan, South Africa and the UK.
Art for Social Change aims to empower young people between 15 and 25 years to be future leaders and contribute to the development of Egypt by developing personal, professional and entrepreneurial skills for the youth through capacity-building programmes and workshops. It also provides early guidance for personal and professional development to build young people’s skills, discover their talents, and actively engage them in societal issues.
The programme will fund productions in the following performance categories:
- Dancing
- Acting
- Storytelling
- Singing
- Ballet
These productions will be made into digital shows.
Requirements
- Attach any sample of previous work if present.
- Social media links.
- Motivational letter.
Successful applicants will receive the following:
- Training on the different financing methods in the arts.
- Attend social media and digital presence workshops.
- Full funding for the winning projects.
Note:
Interested applicants must:
- Be an independent group, university band or group affiliated with already existing institutions.
- Commit to attending the programme during the training period, in case of acceptance.
