
Call for applications: Artist residency in Haiti
L'Association 4 Chemins (A4C) is inviting artists from around the globe to apply for its one-month international residency programme in Haiti.
- Haitian musician Moonlight Benjamin.
The annual residency offers innovative creators space and time to develop their projects in one of the country’s cities. The residency is done in partnership with cultural institutions present in the selected city whose residents benefit from the workshops led by the selected artists.
Successful applicants will have access to art centres, performance halls, libraries, museums, art galleries, and other public institutions such as schools, asylums and prisons.
Who can apply?
The following creatives are eligible:
- Performing artists.
- Visual artists.
- Transdisciplinary artists.
Requirements
Applicants must have been working for at least three years and should submit the following:
- A precise description of the project indicating the specific objectives of the stay.
- A CV.
- An artistic file (CD, photos, audio, video, or documents).
All the above documents can be sent to festivalquatrechemins@gmail.com by 30 June 2020.
Successful applicants will be notified on 15 July 2020.
Applicants should note:
- Participants will be expected to present their work to the public at the end of the residency.
- The period of residence desired by the artist must be indicated between August and October.
- The project must be related to the interior of the city in Haiti.
- The project and CV must be written in French and/or Creole.
Participants will receive an allowance fee of $830 of which 80% will be sent before leaving for the residency.
The balance will be paid to the artists upon the completion of the residency and the submission of:
- A receipt of the original supporting documents for the associated costs.
- A report on the stay, which must be submitted within two months of return.
