Open call: IOMMa 2025 showcase artists
The IOMMa (Indian Ocean Music Market) is inviting musicians based in the Indian Ocean region to apply for an opportunity to showcase at the IOMMa 2025 in Réunion Island from 3 to 4 June.
IOMMa’s mission is to support professionals in the music industry in the region by organising showcases, networking sessions and discussions on the artistic and economic challenges.
Since 2011, more than 220 groups from Réunion Island and all over the Indian Ocean have performed in showcases in front of audiences composed of music professionals. Access to the concerts is free and open to the public. The artistic programme is representative of the music of the Indian Ocean.
Interested artists can apply here.
The application deadline is 17 January 2025 at 11.59pm (Réunion time). Like last year, eight final bands/artists will be selected by an international jury on 31 January.
“Thanks to the success of previous editions, the IOMMa has consolidated its position as the first platform for the Indian Ocean music industry,” the organisers said. “Our market promotes exchanges, encounters and the emergence of opportunities between artists and professionals from the Indian Ocean, while building connections with operators in the music industry from Europe, Australia, America and Asia.”
Local professionals and artists have the opportunity to meet with professionals from other areas (including promoters, labels, producers, managers) during a face-to-face appointment.
Each professional is usually available for two hours, with a maximum of 15 minutes per meeting.
A series of meetings in the form of conferences/workshops is also held, with a panel of professionals discussing issues about the music industry in the region and offering solutions to improve the conditions of Indian Ocean artists.
