Call for applications: Fête de la Musique Joburg 2022
Fête de la Musique is calling on artists to apply for the 2022 edition of the festival in Johannesburg, South Africa, on 18 June.

Interested artists should download and fill in an application form here together with the following material:

- Sound clips.
- Videos
- Press kit.
The applications should be submit via WeTransfer to fetedelamusiquejoburg@gmail.com before 15 April.
The first 300 applications sent before the deadline will be considered.
Applicants will be selected based on the originality of their work as well as the quality of their performance on stage. The jury members of Fête de la Musique 2022 includes French Institute of South Africa deputy director Sophie Boulé, Sakifo Music Festival founder Jérôme Galabert, Music In Africa Foundation project manager Violet Maila, Bassline production manager Andrew Poane, and DJ and content creator Liziwe Kwanini.
“The aim of this call is for the public to discover new local talents and for the artists to have the opportunity to perform on stage,” the organisers said. “Therefore, the potential that the candidate holds in regard to stage performance is one of the most important criteria. Due to the high volume of applications, there is no audition, but there will be a jury of professionals who will listen to the tracks submitted and study the whole application carefully.”
Fête de la Musique was founded by former French minister of arts and culture Jack Lang and French composer and music journalist Maurice Fleuret in 1982. The festival is now celebrated in more than 120 countries around the world. In South Africa, the event is celebrated with a full day of free family friendly concerts offering a great opportunity and platform to upcoming bands. The festival allows everyone to discover new musical trends from traditional music to hip hop, techno and world music.
